Who makes a good restoration date coded muffler and resonator that will last more than 5 years? These things do not hold up.
Where would you buy your next pair?

No mention of vehicle, but ECS might be your first and maybe only stop to shop

When I worked at an exhaust shop, we would use an awl to make a small hole in the muffler right above the rear seam. That lets the water drain out of them and they last a lot longer. I'm not sure you're interested in doing that though since you're looking for date coded parts. Just throwing that out there.

It also is dependent on the amount it is driven at one time.

A trailer queen that is only driven super short distances will greatly suffer from condensation in the exhaust system

I hope the ECS system will be up to snuff Mike, I ordered their full '71 system for my Cuda last week at Carlisle to replace my TTI X pipe setup...last thing I want to hear...though won't be daily driving in rain and snow as they were originally were, will have to check on weep holes...

Like Morty & Burdar said: need to get the exhaust system warm enough to burn off the condensation. I've also seen mufflers with a small (1/8"?) hole in an end cap for a drain, that looked like they were made that way.

Minimum drive should be 15 miles or 15 minutes one way to be certain the temperature of the exhaust system is above steam or 212*F. Look for internals made of aluminized steel or stainless 409 or stainless 304. These 3 grades are good, better, and best. If the manufacturer doesn't name one of these 3 metals, it's likely carbon steel is being used, the shortest lived of all.

How much is ECS over the axle pipe system resonators and mufflers date coded? There is no price on his website.
I've always ran my car and got it up to operating temperature. 2nd set of mufflers and it is kept in a climate controlled garage.

As mentioned "up to temperature" does not matter. You need at least 15 minutes of drive time at temp. Each time.

Short drives kills muffs and resonators. Doesn't matter where you get them unless they are stainless. Of course they were never made in SS. As mentioned, long drives or get them really hot. Otherwise water is just sitting in there.

Did the originals last any longer?

Two sets of Dynomax Super Turbos in 26 yrs, first set had AP resonators. I put a 1/8" hole at bottom of outlet on both muffler and resonator, first set lasted 17 yrs, second still on without resonator.
