Hamtramck Historical site has a lost & found for #s stuff, or ask Barry (Alaskan TA here), who does that site.

0B 179064 - From a Barracuda or Cuda, is it a 904, 727, 230 or 833?

0B 228118 matches a Hemi Cuda built for Canada, but I do not have any contact information for the cars owner. :-(

Big block, part number on pan rail is for a six pack car.
Hemi trans is a 727.

Thanks for the additional information Lee!

I recorded them in my database, I'll contact you if either car surfaces on my radar in the future.

While researching information on 727's, I came across this thread that is now 2 years old. I understand that the "0" represents 1970 and "B" represents the Hamtramck plant. Is there something about the last six digits of these VIN's that would indicate a Barracuda rather than a Challenger?

Thanks,
David

Dusters, Darts & Valiants are possible 0Bs also.

By themselves, the numbers alone will not tell anyone much that way.

But Hamtramck assigned VINs in groups of the same type (even though the cars were not built in batches of the same type or in VIN order) so with thousands of VINS in the 1970 Hamtramck Registry I can usually tell what base model an engine or transmission came from.

0B228118 is a EW1 blue gut Hemi Cuda.....it's still in BC...a buddy owns it. Was raced from day 1.
