small axle tag stamping

I have a small rear axle tag that is stamped 46-13 and below that is stamped 3.54. I assume the 3.54 is the ratio but what does the 46-13 signify? I suppose it could be 46-15 as it is a little difficult to read. Just curious. Thanks

46 is the ring gear tooth count and 13 is the pinion tooth count.

46/13 = 3.53846
