Dual Snorkel air cleaner question??

Dual Snorkel air cleaner question?? - 03/04/09 01:34 AM

I have two dual snorkel air cleaners in my garage and was wondering if anyone knew which one would be correct for my 1970 Challenger R/T?

One has 7 inch long snorkels and the other one is 9 inches long. They are 100% the same other than the snorkel length. So hopefully someone can set me straight on this topic??

I do have the correct one for my Challenger, it is the 7 inch snorkel with the breather port in the back. I still have no idea what the other one with the 9 snorkels is? Maybe a 1970 c-body air cleaner or something?

I'll try to get a picture of the two side by side tomorrow to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Does the one with the longer snorkels have the flapper doors in it? Some motorhomes use a dual snorkel without the flaps.

Here are a couple pictures of the two side by side. I'm 90% sure it has the flapper door on it like the other one. I'll look again to be sure.

Interesting. That's a new one on me. It has the vacuum pots on it so it would have the flaps. Definitely has the '70 style snorkels.
