Fiberglass or steel repro hood, which should I use.

I am thinking about putting a fiberglass shaker hood on my car. AAR fiberglass Reproductions make a non functional shaker hood with the bubble attached. That would work well on my car as I am putting in a new 6.4 hemi in the car and it is fuel injected. Has anyone used products from this company? I was curious about the quality and if the hood would look just like steel after painting.

While I am on the subject how are the new steel shaker hoods. I see that AMD has one and I think Goodmark also. Could one of those be made as a non functional shake. Would the steel be better than the fiberglass.

AAR has a pretty good rep from what I have read here. However I'd prefer a steel hood, the repop stuff is pretty nice.

I'd go with metal,fiberglass hoods are never perfect,also keep in mind most of the time you have to change the springs or hinges if you go with fiberglass,or you will have cracks from trying to shut it,as most glass hoods are lighter than metal

I've seen functional shakers used on new HEMI's. I'm sure there's a way to get everything to work. I would have a problem with having a non functional shaker. I think it would end up looking like the hood on that Hot Rod Stratus R/T from a few years back.

The ones from AAR in FL are real nice from what I have seen.
They are a hevy glass hood and are a great value if on a budjet and the car is just a hot rod. They do make springs for them.
Realy depends on how much you want to spend. Looking at 4 times as much for a repro steel one and all the other stuff to go with it. Shaker parts are not cheap at all.
