Would media blasting this part of the grill leave a good finish for painting. It's an RT grill, painted black.

If it's cured i.e. aged lacquer, & a reasonably thin coating, then a very fine glass bead media would remove it at lowest possible pressure. If enamel, blasting is more difficult, since it's not as brittle as lacquer. But that metal is slow thin, warpage/distortion is likely, unless maybe you blast at a shallow angle.
Better to get some lacquer thinner & 0000 steel wool & scrub it away. 0000 wool works nice on anodized stuff.

Did you try paint stripper? Let it go for a few minutes then take a scrub brush to it.

Don't know what type of paint it is, looks thick. I'll try a stripper

Tried a jasco stripper, took the black off easily, underneath is argent which is harder to remove. Evidently it's not an R/T grill ?
