Crush Convertible top - 11/27/17 11:46 PM

Does anyone have a direct contact for a manufacturer of the "Crush" convertible top for 69 b-bodies? I don't want one that has been sitting on a shelf.

That would be a challenge. I had issues with fitment of my a-body top and my guy wanted to just get the material and make his own. Ran into roadblocks getting the material. He ended up making it work in the end, after struggling. Would be interested in if you get a source in the end.

Found it and ordered it today.

8 year warranty
Crush black top, tinted glass back window and pad, $440 shipped, fresh made(required by my installer).
Shipped same day. KeeAutoTop.com Charlotte NC.

Bought my rear tack strips from a place in Citrus Springs FL.

Hows that?

I thought you were looking for the material in raw form. Will be interesting how it looks. The top may be made "fresh", but the material could be sitting for a long time before. My top was a Kee Top and made recently before installing and he had to steam the heck out of it. Still has one small crease that I hope will go away soaking in the summer sun.
Let me know how the top installs, in particular when he goes to stretch to the rear 1/4 windows.
I have never seen a tinted rear window before. I guess you got this automatically when ordering tinted front glass?

I am hoping that the material would be rolled up and cut for my order, that was my request. Of course, we always get what we want when we buy car parts and I have confidence that this part will be no different. I am going to open it as soon as it gets here and start letting it flatten out, since we aren't ready for it anyway. The original back glass would have been clear, but since it has a/c and the rest of the glass are tinted, I picked this as one of my cheat spots.

Best to keep it open and flat, as I have learned. Hopefully your install goes easier then mine. I had to get two tops from two different vendors since the cut was not correct. Which is why he wanted to just make his own. Not sure if my top frame was off or the cut is that far off.
One thing for sure, I am glad I did not tackle this job myself. I think I would have lost my mind trying to install, given the challenges he had, even with his decades of experience.
Dont forget new top tension cables. If you cant find them, I can dig up the place I got mine from. They were listed only for a 67 on the site at the time, but they may have resolved by now.

Top came in 3 days after ordering. Opened it up and it just had soft folds from shipping and no creases. Happy so far and we are just going to leave it out on the bed in the guest room till it is time to install it. Back glass has a mild tint to it, so all is good in the land of Dirk. My original cables have been in a bag for 30 years and are still like new.

I now have a faded plastic back window for wall art with a big radio station sticker that says something like WZEW out of Texas.
