Ebody B5 interior color paint code? - 03/01/09 03:03 AM

I have a B3 barracuda with B5 trim code, and would like to repaint the dash frame and spray the interior panels. Does anyone know what the paint PPG code would be for this? Would it be different for the plastic trim?

A Instrument Panel Dark Blue Poly 14090
B Glove Box Door Dark Blue Poly 14090
C Ash Receiver face and Handle Dark Blue Poly 14090
D Stereo Speaker Grills Dark Blue Poly 14090
E Steering Column Black 9388
F Steering Housing Assembly Black 9388
G Steering Column Collapsable Can Black 9388
H Housing Steering Column Lock Black 9388
I Upper Windshield Header Moulding Brite Blue Poly 14096
J Backlight Molding Brite Blue Poly 14096
K Roof Rail Mouldings Brite Blue Poly 14096
L Forward edge C Pillar garnish moulding Brite Blue Poly 14096

I cant seem to format this with tabs. Anyway, most of the dash is Dark blue poly.
The mouldings are Brite blue poly which is pretty much the same color but with more gloss.
The plastic pieces I did with SEM dye for plastics. It is more flexible than laquer or enamel.
We have the same car. My dash is right behind me now getting the finishing touches.

I will post more tomorrow or Monday. The newer pics are still in the camera at work. I have the redyed door panels done. My blue panels did not survive very well. I bought some black ones in pretty good shape and dyed them blue. I will post those on Monday.

From another angle. These were shot in Australia so that is why they are upside down.

That looks a lot better than the originals out of my wife's 70 Barracuda. (Original on the right...Palco hunk of crap on the left.)

I would try to save them. There does not seem to be a reproduction worth the money out there. I went the route I did because of the issues with the reproduction pieces. The most important preparation tip I can give you is make sure ALL of the oxidized plastic be removed before prepping the panels. Otherwise, just follow SEM's instructions for the rest of the prep work. The adhesion promoter is inexpensive and easy to use.
Good luck,
Craig
