68-70 b body heater delete - 09/24/17 04:58 PM

Looking for any pictures of parts or cars that are factory heater delete cars. I know there is a special right side vent box similar to the left side vent box that goes under the cowl, but I am interested in seeing what the parts look like. Also, any engine bay pictures showing the heater core nipple plugs. Whatever you guys have would be a great help.

Picture for attention...

I have a 70 Superbee 440 Sixpack that is heater delete. Car was sent to Honolulu Hawaii.

There is a vent on the right hand side.

The holes for the heater hoses have plastic plugs.

The controls have a plate over them.

I can get you picks next weekend (I have posted them here before) as they are on my other computer

The vent box looks like this. Interesting point ... they did not make a "grill" for it like the one on the driver's side or on the heater.

Interesting. Converting a left side one is probably the only way to Im gonna get one of those. Thanks for the pics.

I think the 71 non ac cars are just like that. These were the best thing to have on a date back then. Speed up and open the vent, and watch the skirt get blown up.

Converting a left side vent is pretty much out of the question, among other things the vanes point in the wrong direction.
While its cool to save weight, if your windows fog up any time while cruising it will stop you dead in your tracks with no fan from the heater box. You can do without the heat but you really need that air movement. I personnal didn't think the hassle (one time) was worth the slight weight savings !! That's why I sold that box !!

I made a controls block-off plate. No longer needed.

Works, I'm thinking you might be able to use a 66-67 part as well. Might be more common than the 68-69 stuff due to the regulations that went into effect in the late 60's

Great pictures, I have a few questions for you though.

1) How is the vent box mounted to the bottom of the cowl?
2) Are the heater box mounting holes plugged off in the engine bay?
3) Are there defroster vents on top of the dash or just normal defroster blockoffs?

The vent box mounts the same way the one on the driver's side mounts. The FSM shows that.
