I use SEM Trim Black for the blackout. Don't know if you would consider that semi-gloss or satin.

What do you mean blackout paint?

Sometimes people mean the area around the headlamps and radiator support - if so PPG DP90 works great

If you mean the black paint that goes on body above the taillamps it's Organisol

If you're asking about blackout behind the grill and SEM there are three different gloss types of SEM Trim paint so you want the flattest black type. I've tried and have every gloss type SEM Trim (black) paint and really found that for the best (IMO sorry) rattle can look/paint that Krylon ULTRA-FLAT black to be the best for grille blackout. Again just my experience and opinion...and you know what they say about opin..... wink

Pretty sure I just used whatever flat black rattle can I had. Lying on my back, pointing up trying to get similar coverage as factory did (although I think I got "more" on than factory) . . . .
