69 alternator

What's the correct #'s for an alternator in a 69 340 swinger? And where can I find 1?

What combo do you have , non A/C or A/C? If you want a correct date code build date required also. I sent you a Pm.

Looked at the broadcast sheet, it gives no info on alt

Your broadcast sheet should give you the last 2 digits of the part number, then look it up in Galen's book, that will give you the full 7 digit number .

Not sure. The F series (1970) sheet had a code between inlet hose and fan for the alt.

Maybe Mr Dan can enlighten us

Here is an original never been apart or re manufactured 22 week of 69 which is May 14 of 1969. It is all original with correct sunburst and original rear bearing where my finger is pointing. This is spot on for your car with a SPD of 609. Check you Pm Box.

Alternator is the first item in line 7 of the E series 1969 broadcast sheet. The bottom of your photo shows line 6.

I search for 5 years to find a correct date code Alternator for my 69 Dart. Most have been rebuilt and blasted so much you can not read them. I just sent my 2642537 12 69 out to be restored. It was also a unrestored one with original brg. The restoration shop was impressed that I even found one unmolested.

I bought one last year with the correct date for my 69 GTS. I paid $300 for it. They are not cheap!

I just checked my original alternator from my 69 340 Dart and it's also shows the part number 2642537

Whats your SPD and what date code is on your alt.?

Thanks for posting. I am always keeping track of date codes compared to SPD dates.

I took a look at my broadcast sheet and I'm not seeing any alternator listing part number info. I think the 70 and later sheets had them on there.
