A Body Vinyl Top - 06/25/17 09:23 PM

Did any of the A bodies from 71 through 76 have the vinyl top termite at the top of the A pillar? Thanks

My old 71 Dart vinyl top stopped at the top of the windshield. I think the later cars (73+) that don't have vent windows have the vinyl top that extends down all the way down to the base of the windshield.

I saw two over the weekend, but they both had vent windows, and I was just wondering if they were actually like that.

Possibly the reproduction vinyl tops they sell today are one size fits all and come with the extra material? People might be doing it because the like the look of it, or just don't know what is correct for their car so they do it by accident???

Here is a 1972 brochure that shows the top without the vinyl going past the windshield.

I guess they made the cars both ways. My friend has a 72 where it goes all the way down, as does my 75 4 door.

The fastback style (Duster, Demon, Dart Sport) vinyl tops go all the way down the A-Pillar, the 2-door hardtops do not. twocents
