E-body steering wheels

Where different color s-wheels made or just black?

There are:

3 spoke woodgrain
3 spoke black
3 spoke rimblow
2 spoke black

The horn pads come in different colors

See that list? Notice no Tuff wheel on there? e-bodies never had them folks.

You do know that the steering wheels centers were available in multiple colors right? The rims were not.

The best you'll get for "factory correct"...otherwise it's custom?

Personally no I wouldn't. I love the look of the woodgrain three spoke wheel.

If I had a 71 "A" I wouldn't mind it.

The Tuff wheel was originally intended for use in The T/As as standard equipment.

Thankfully they came to their senses before the cars went into production.

Yeah, that way they had some to put in the '75 Cordobas.

OK that's not fair. I'm a Challenger guy and that is ultimate prize. However I do prefer the Yellow Jacket version, but I know Mr. J has everything to convert it back.

Then you'd be at "home" in the Yellow Jacket as that had a blowrim

Over the years I've seen two different types of A93 Challenger Coupe (Deputy) and A93 Barracuda Coupe black rim wheels.

One smooth grain. The other pebble grain. Don't know if it's a vendor, plant, Barracuda vs challenger, or a 70 vs 71 thing.

It's a year thing but i forget which is which

1970 black 3 spoke "smooth"
1971 black 3 spoke "pebble grain"

1970 black 3 spoke "smooth" (hard plastic - cracks)
1971 black 3 spoke "pebble grain" (material like '72-'74 2-spoke - virtually indestructible)

I have at least one of each...

Unless you have a height advantage. You'll like the Tuff Stuff wheel.
My wife is 5'. And adding the Tuff Stuff wheel was hands down the best thing I ever did to it. A year later we added a 6 way seat and it only made it even more enjoyable to drive for her.
If not for those 2 , she hated driving that car. To hard to see out of.
Plus the wheel diameter mixed with the rim thickness ( or should I saw the lack thereof ) she said made it feel like a driving a tank bus.

I tried a tuff wheel for several years, not my cup of tea, went with a restored rim blow, much nicer

I loved the Tuff wheel that I had in my AAR. It helped to tame the T/A fast ratio power steering.

Umm, wouldn't that be the other way around? The Tuff wheel is smaller diameter, therefore makes a steering ratio feel faster than a larger diameter in that the distance your hands travel is less.

I have a Tuff wheel with the fast ratio pitman arm (power steering) and it's great.

It makes sense what you are saying. I don't know , but I seemed to get a better feel for the road with the Tuff wheel in, over the larger wood grain wheel.

I would think the smaller wheel takes away leverage, less over compensating.
