5/16 or 3/8 Fuel Line? - 06/04/08 04:29 PM
Replacing all my fuel lines and wanted some feedback on fuel line diameter. I believe original lines on my A12 car are 5/16". Should I replace with same or go to 3/8"? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes, the original A12 lines are 5/16". If you look at any of the guys running the Muscle Car Drag Races, they all have 3/8" for the performance.

3/8" for performance, unless you're doing a super OE level resto.

The 5/16" line will be fine.

for a stock car keep it 5/16", you'll have to change your sending unit also if you go with 3/8" line. you wont need 3/8" for stock application.

The stock sending unit has a 3/8" outlet. If you go with the Hemi 3/8" fuel line to the fuel pump and then 5/16" from the fuel pump up to the vapor separator, nobody will notice or it wouldn't matter if they did. In fact, I thought I heard the 70 sixpack's were upgraded to the 3/8" fuel line and have a 3/8" inlet in the fuel pump? On the other hand, the 5/16" always worked fine for me on my A12.
