What is the OE correct shade of Black used on my V21 , J54 sport hood equipped Demon. Ive seen them painted flat Black, Semi gloss Black and i need to know what shade was applied from the factory i want it to be just as it was from the assembly line, thanks Moparts great site with great members.

Hi Scott does this paint have a smooth finish or is a textured one ?, is it hard to get these days.

It has a light texture/orange peel to it.
The original paint was old school lacquer (PPG DDL9355), so if you want 100% oem perfect that is what you need to track down. There are other modern versions of the paint from various sources that can be made to look close enough. Many of the new versions of this paint lack the aluminum and/or they don't texture out properly. You can add silver micro flake and texture additive back in + play with the spray technique and get it to lay down much closer to original product.
