69 cuda m code driveshaft

As I was just getting ready to evaporust my driveshaft I noticed there was black paint on the one end. Any reason not to think it was factory? Never saw one painted myself.

Aren't they tapered down on each end? That one might not be original to your car.

Taper to the rear. Every reason to,think that black paint was applied later on.

Yes the taper is to the rear. Thanks guys it just struck me as funny how clean the metal is under the paint. Must have been done way early on.

Just like the Dart ones I have just shorter. Still looking for one on my project m-code Cuda. Also 3 inches in diameter on the big part, if you got 3-1/4 not right, in the fsm.

That weld joint does not look factory .
