71 challenge door panel color - 01/31/17 06:18 PM

Hello I'm trying to find the paint code to die door panels for a challenger I'm workin on
I want to put white on them is it the bright white( sno white w3) or the off white (spinnaker white w1)I'm thinking the off would be it.
My paint guy told me dupont makes some very nice product for this?? He just needs a paint code to mix- he hasn't steered me wrong yet.
Also do the kick panels stay black I'm thinking so.

Why not just buy some high quality repo panels molded in white?

If you are going to flip the car then go ahead. I used a kit and I believe it was called Marehide on my Challenger panels. Looked good for a while but it can scratch and you can see the other color in the scratch. I used there primer and dye paint. The repop panels were not around then. I have since gone and bought the new repops. They are not 100 % but do look pretty nice in a car with white interior.

Yes, white interior E-bodies have black kick panels, which match the black dash and carpet.

Thanks for the info on the kick panels I was thinking they where black
As for buying new panels I don't want to spend money there I need to put that money else where -motor-. I've parted out several challengers over the years and saved some nice panels and going this route. It's my wife's car and won't be flipped. It's a convertible with a 23 year old paint job and just now getting time to put it together, paint is still good- need to get it together and drive it some ( get her off of my a$$ ).
I'm not sure which white to use that's why I'm asking.
If later down the road it starts to chip I'll look into getting new.
Thanks

I pulled the blue interior out of my Challenger Convertible and bought a 1970 white interior minus the door panels and back panels used.I dyed the panels fronts from black to white and the back blue to white and the color was a bright white. It was brighter than my factory white panels for my hard top but they are 1971 panel with the original color on them and might of faded a little. I have since bought new Blue Panels for the Convertible and might change back to blue in my convertible. I still need to buy new blue interior. I like blue exterior with white interior, car came blue with blue interior.

Hmm so the 71 white panels were a shade darker then the dyed panels
do you think they where faded or started as off white?

When you end up dyeing painting your panels it tends to fill in the wood grain alittle. The wood grain would toss some shadows on the panel making it look a little darker so refinishing them will bring them up brighter. I would not worry about it not being exactly like the Color dodge made them it will be close and likely your wife is going to spill and drop stuff on the panels and they will get darker real quick.
