1970 Challenger 383 Alternator Brackets w/ A/C

In the attached photos of my 383, do the alternator brackets look right for having A/C? Did they use an idler in '70? I've never owned an A/C car, so this is all new to me.

The alternator brackets are 68 and older. Top and bottom 1970 brackets are different. The idler should be there and looks right. There are different thickness spacers behind it.

The AC compressor bracket look right, from the small part showing. It should bolt to the drivers side of the intake manifold only with a steel bracket. The cast iron 68 compressor bracket goes from drivers side to passenger side intake bolts.

Alt brackets are not 70 and I see washers under the idler bracket. Cobbled together parts.

The correct alt bracket goes behind the spacer on the idler. That will remove some of those washers you see.

Erik,the pics that you posted look exactly like the 68 Chrysler Newport w/a 383 that I'm working on right now.Definatly not correct for a 70 E-body.I have a 440 w/ac out of a 70 Charger on the floor right now.I can snap pics if you want.Let me know. John.

Yes it is correct 1970. Notice the bracket bolted to the front of th cylinder head for the alt pivot bolt on B engine only.
