1970 B-body A-833 detailing - 07/18/16 02:24 PM

Hey gang...
I looked over at MMC, Roger Gibson and searched here and couldn't find any images on the detailing/markings on a A-833 18-spline 4-speed in my '70 Superbird. Unfortunately, my tranny was painted red by the original owner, so it is impossible to take reference pictures of this particular unit. I have a friend with a survivor 4speed Superbird, but there may be some markings on top I can't see...

Thanks in advance for any images...

If you have the broadcast sheet you would at least have the, I believe it is called the rack number. They were in different colors and numbers depending on plant. I always figured if you don't know don't do it someone might call you out on it.

Those are the 3 large #'s that are stenciled on the passenger side of the case. They are the last 3 #'s of the actual part# for that 4 speed

Yes they are part #s. An old friend of mine that worked the assembly line said they sat in racks and pulled according to the build and the workers on his line reffered to that as a rack #
