Correct 4 spd pedal assembly detail...... - 03/25/16 06:49 PM

Does anybody have pics they can post of a correctly restored 4 spd pedal assembly ? Is the spring painted or natural ? How high is the black paint on the pedals ?

These are photos of factory original parts from an unmolested one-owner 69 Barracuda during disassembly. The spring could be phosphated, but my best guess is bare metal. The bottom edges of the post-it notes show the limit of good spray paint coverage. Above bottom edges is overspray.

In the top photo I believe that is original (too much) factory grease. The bracket that anchors the spring at left was not designed strong enough and is deformed.

The pedals on my '69 RR had a very distinct paint line - like they were dipped.

I always thought the pedals were dipped too like on auto cars . I can tell by orig paint left on this 71 B Body set that the black was much higher up then in the pic above but does look like it was sprayed , not dipped . Any other orig E or B body car pics out there ?
