Re: Inside quarter panel sound deadner - 09/17/1503:13 AM
Checkout this original quarter panel off my 74 challenger.
There's no way I was going to duplicate the factory deal, it was too sloppy. I used some 3M rock chip guard, it has texturd finish to it. It's going to get some paint over it. You E body guys, don't forget to transfer the rear window stops from your old quarters to your new quarters. They don't come with the new quarters.
I have used Lord Fusor sprayable seam sealer. You can adjust the gun to achieve the texture that you are looking for. It is then ready for paint. My body supply store has a gun that he loans out so that is a plus not to have to buy a gun. I do believe anyone that tries this and practices a bit on an old panel would be very happy with the results. If I get an opportunity I will post a pic. Hope this helps.

I've experimented with 3m and lords and truck bedliner before I sprayed mine I chose the bedliner. Used an under coating and pressure between 50-60#. I love the texture and the durability is what sold me.

The same material used as undercoating was used to sound deaden quarter panels and inner fenders. I would recommend the product www.RestoRick.com sells, awesome stuff! BTW, at the factory it was shot onto the insides of the quarter panels before they were welded to the unibody.
