Console mount cassette player 71 cuda - 08/26/15 06:07 PM

I have a cassette player that has the floor mount bracket, and I need to switch it with the console mount bracket (the two metal pieces) Does anyone reproduce these?
I thought I saw them on here long ago for about $33 each, but now they are proving to be difficult to track down.
This is a 71 cuda automatic console car.
I may need that little U-shaped base thing too

The part#s you would be looking for are.

3501123 console bracket upper.
3501085 " " lower under console.
3501124 shroud lower with console.

maybe the numbers can @ least help U track down the needed parts

P.S. I may be interested in the floor mount brackets.

I made some prototypes a few years ago, I might have some in stock, I'll post pics of what I have.

Which one of these parts do you need? There is another bracket not shown, possibly the one you need?

The two smaller pieces are correct for a console mounted deck. They should be plated zinc dichromate.

Hold your critique for now Dwight, they are just unfinished prototypes up

I realize that. I'm just letting you know in case you didn't.

I'm quite sure member here, Bill Alphin reproduced those, plated in correct zinc dichromate.
He had a few boxes full of them at Chryslers at Carlisle 2 years ago just freshly done and very reasonably priced.
They looked spot on.
This bottom plastic piece with lip 3501124 will be, and is, the toughest cassette player part to find

Which reminds me of why I stopped at the prototypes, professional courtesy, no need for two vendors selling the same small demand part that's already available as an accurate reproduction. up

I was unable to get ahold of Bill, but I did find the two I was needing, now I just need to know:
does the flat bracket screw into the top of the console, or does it screw in underneath?
and about that plastic lip thingy....pn 3501124.
anybody have one?

The flat plate goes under the console.

anyone know where exactly it screws to the console?

You have to line it up yourself unless someone can provide measurements, I've seen consoles @ swap meets that had the holes in them maybe someone has one that they could check for you.

Do these help? FYI, this one is original and I've seen multiples, no two have been exactly alike, location seems to have been a bit random and I've even seen multiple holes like they went in slightly off and were then moved and drilled again to correct it. And yes, there were only 4 screws in this one!
