Not knocking it but I see stuff I didn't agree with and I'm real close to painting and dressing my 72 400.
Is coil right?
Wires are later over the counter no?
Dipstick handle should be dipped in Orange to match aircleaner?
I see washers under manifold bolts?
Fuel line?
Oil Sender looks silver?
Vacuum advance is 4 speed style, is it a 4 speed?
PCV not painted?
Please post answers and more pictures if you have them.

Again not knocking your stuff!

Re: 72 400 engine - 07/21/15 02:00 AM

Please thank the Moparts web board owner, Tom Frysinger, for making these pictures possible. up bow beer

It's a million times faster to post multiple pictures in one post than before with the old board. I would probably have not bother to post all the pics because it used to take so much time.

I have pics of a 72 Road Runner GTX also. Maybe not as much. But I have to get them off my camera first.

Charcoal canister has been removed, purge line rerouted to a ’71 style three nipple breather.

Not my stuff, found the shots online a while back. Thought it was fairly accurate period correct resto detail. Yes, fuel line looks to be fabricated, routing doesn’t look correct. Four speed vacuum advance? Retard solenoid/vacuum advance unit? Don’t see kick-down linkage, must be a manual. Yes, I believe in ’72, the orange wires would have been service replacement wires. IIRC, orange wires and washers under the intake bolts would be factory correct around ’75-76 or so on big blocks. Can’t help much with the other details mentioned.

Note the wrong booster sticker for '72, your old shots show the correct "45" sticker for '72.

To clarify: Orange wires are correct in 1972 because of the electronic ignition. I said service replacements because I saw the date on them and the straight boots at the cap.
