Exhaust manifold heat riser lube?? - 05/28/08 05:57 PM

I recently blasted, painted and reassembled the heat riser parts on my hemi exhaust manifold. Is there some kind of high heat lubricant for the shaft that won't burn off after every use?

Mopar makes a heat control solvent in an aersol can.

The riser actually functions just fine, just squeals pretty nasty. I had some graphite powder laying around and it made it a little more quiet, but the powder would never last once the engine is running. Is the Mopar solvent primarily to loosen one that is stuck, or can it be also as a lube?

Jim I have a can in the shop that I can look at. Its a penetrant solvent and lube as I recall. I will tell you this. Heat riser valves seem to always have some type of noise from new.
