K-Frame splash shields?

K-Frame splash shields? - 04/06/15 04:26 AM

When I took my 72 Satellite apart for restoration there was only one K-Frame shield on the passenger side. Today when I was under it looking at what I needed to purchase I realized that the left frame rail has no holes in it for a shield. Originally thought it was just lost or broken off years back.
Is this common or an oddity? Should I put two back on or just one like I found it?
Thanks Ron

Same thing on my '73 challenger. Right side in place, no holes on left. I have seen picture of the challenger with two though.

I found my Windsor built Roadrunner has both shields. My St. Louis built Satellite Sebring has only one shield on right.

I've owned a lot of 71-2 B's and 70-71 E's and they pretty much all had both shields. They probably just ran out of them the day your car was built so it didn't get one.

I posted earlier that my 73 Challenger only has one on the passengers side. The post got deleted during the website upgrade. There are NO holes in the drivers side frame for a shield. Either the holes were left out by accident, or the factory stopped putting the DS shields on at some point.

I cleaned up the (1) original and re-installed.
