71 R/T Door Stripes - 03/14/15 03:31 AM

I have a smudge on my driver door stripe. Can I buy the door stripe separately? All I can find are full sets for sale
Thanks

If you call Phoenix graphics and ask them I bet they would. They sold me just a cowl stripe passenger side once the body shop messed up putting my first one on.

Most (not all) stripe mfg's will supply you a section if contacted directly....the problem you may face though, is if you don't know who the MFG is, you may be more disappointed that the stripe color or texture, yes even black, may not match, or the stripes dimensions themselves differ from those currently on your car

I would replace all the door stripes on one side to make sure they all matched.

That's what I was thinking as well. If the stripes were new and you knew where they came from it might work. For the price of them I would just get another complete kit.

I would look into if a local sign company could help you out. You know the places that advertise car wrapping and such. They have the ability to replicate just about anything.

It will look funny next week wearing a yellow door. I ordered the kit from year one 16 years ago. I will order a set and change the whole side to make sure she looks right. Thanks for the advise

Any one remember who supplied Year One with the stripes they sold back then. I have bought off Phoenix Graphics and Dales Cuda shop in the past. Both are very good. I would think there are others but I have no experience buying from any one else. Both these two have supplied partial stripe kits in the past. Just give each a call and ask them is they supplied year one and I bet both products are 3M material and would match anyways. Can the smudge be fixed, have you asked someone that does all this if it can be fixed.

Just change the door first, you may luck out. If it doesn't match then do the quarter and fender and you know they'll match then for sure. Is that thing #'s matching? Nice car btw.

Exactly what I was thinking as I read through the thread!

I'd bet Performance Car Graphics supplied Year One a decade plus ago - I'd start there & ask.

I should qualify this, I still think it is smart to get the whole side, that way you know it will match. If you do the door and it doesn't match it would be lousy to be ordering the quarter and fender ones and waiting again.

OK, my smudge was the least of my problems being I tore the fiberglass door off the car...lol....numbers matching? yikes, not in my nature, hence the 71 stripes on my 70. I'll pick up a set but try just the door first. Thanks all for the help

Pretty sure DCS was Year One's supplier back then.
