kick-down linkage problem - 01/08/09 09:01 PM

i have a 69 rr with a 440 auto. if i adjust the linkage according to motor's manual it will overcenter on the bell crank. are there different lenths shafts from the bellcrank to the trans? i see lokar sells a kickdown cable. could this solve the problem? it has an avs carb. thank you

If your not looking for origonality, the cable set-up is pretty nice. It's easy to install and you don't have to hunt for the correct linkage with all look the same to me. I have the cable set-up on a big block Dakota.

If you decide to go with the cable set up, I have used both the Lokar and the one from Bouchillion Performance. The Lokar never really did work right for me, but the one from Bouchillion works perfectly.Hope this helps.

To answer your question...Yes there are different length linkages and you need the specific linkage for the application...B or RB,2 or 4 bbl, etc...
