1970 Cuda HOOD LATCH PLATE question - 01/06/09 08:41 PM

Is the hood latch plate on a 1970 Cuda different (narrowwer) then 1971-74?

I'm putting a 70 header on a 74 Cuda and there's no way the 74 hood latch plate will fit.

If they are different where can I find one? repro?

The bracket was the same for 70-74, p/n 3443 877.
There was another part number in the 70 only parts book, p/n 2947 572 for 70 Cuda & Challenger. It was superseded to 3443 877.

According to the 70 only and 70-71 books, Cuda & Challenger used the same bracket for the 70 & 71 model years.
72-74 showed a different bracket was used on the Challenger, p/n 3573 624.

Since the parts books state it should be the same identical bracket 70-4, did the 70-1 vertical support stay the same through 72-4 let us know what you find out Alan and why the '74 piece isn't fitting correctly yet on the '70 header. Used pieces have sold for dirt cheap the past few months and were readily available.
