Correct SIX BARREL air cleaner decal NOS?? - 11/15/14 09:30 AM

Does anyone know where I can locate a CORRECT SIX BARREL air cleaner decal with the correct checker pattern. = NOT the ones commonly found on eBay for $10-$20.

An NOS or accurate reproduction would be nice.

Thanks for the link, but I don't think these have the correct checker black and white pattern.

Not trying to be too picky, just correct, like this NOS decal.

I don't know if I ever seen anyone do a accurate repop. The checker pattern was done wrong for some reason and everyone copied the wrong one.

This is my lid and the sticker was replaced in the mid 1980's

From the NOS decals I have seen and original photos, correct is, = the "checker board" is two rows in height from the letters to the top and it starts with a white checker then black. NOT starting with black and then white.

At least that's how I understand it. But who knows for sure???

I think I read somewhere that it wouldn't be on a shaker car - it wouldn't be seen - only sticker was the yellow air cleaner service sticker

Joe is correct, not supposed to be on a shaker air cleaner lid....but never say never, perhaps some did.

Looks like they flipped the photo when trying to reproduce it..the white boxes are on the right side..nothing a little sissor and another decal can fix..

Good catch on the decal.

I have a original 71 AG-assembly and the decal is exactly as the NOS one in the pictures above.

That doesn't have the 1970 Six Barrel decal pic. Someone will have to email him. I am sure if he doesn't already, he'll end up making it correct...if brought to his attention.

the checkerboard pattern is reversed/flipped on original Plymouth 340+6 VS. 440+6 air cleaner decals

This one I purchased from PCG about 2001, I remember at the time Dave claimed to sell the only correct color sticker out there.

I think the 340 six pack decal on ECS site is correct. The 440 decal has the flip flopped checkerboard which is not shown. Knowing how detail correct Dave is, I'm sure he wouldn't waste the time and money to make stuff up only to have it be incorrect.

You should check with ECS Automotive Concepts. They do correct stuff and are exact replicas of the originals.

No, big guy, I didn't read any of the posts, how long have you been alive Do you believe everything you've read or seen posted in any magazines or on line forums? BTW, have you seen the original cars at the dealers and races like I have Never say never when it comes to any production vechicles(especially the one off or limited production cars) of any brand, let alone any Mopars

Hey Gents and Ladies, I think I have this figured out, with a little help from you guys and MoParts.

I just didn't want to order a reproduction and have it be incorrect. Most suppliers say their decals are correct, and when you get it, sometimes they are not correct.

The decal is for a 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT Six Barrel/6BBL.

Just to clear up any confusion, I called up Dave and he emailed me this picture of the 340 & 440 decal they offer. He said they advertise their decals by highlighting just one or two specific examples. For example, the ECS website shows a tan colored tail-light harness decal under the main listing but other decal applications might have a different color or font. Lets face it, if they listed a picture of every decal they offer, they would have over a thousand different pictures showing their complete inventory.

That appears to be correct, but since we are being ANAL here, the color is a little off of the correct color, yes? Just sayin'.....

The only way to compare the two is to have the two of them side by side and use the exact same camera to take the same pics. I've have some pictures look totally different between one computer monitor and another. Even the NOS ones look different compared to some of the others posted here. Which one is correct?
