1962 max wedge block - 01/06/09 12:38 AM
Looking to buy a 62 max wedge block. How do i know if it's the real deal beside the casting no.and the bore notches
Quote:
Most 1962 casting date blocks would have been assembled for the 1963 production year and would have been 426's rather than 413's

Here's an original. Since Max Wedge engines were assembled on the Marine Engine line they used a different/unique stamping die set that had a bigger font as compared to regular production line font. Also, all Max Wedges, all years, were painted Race Hemi Orange, any sign of original turquoise paint and it's probably not a MW.
