AAR, AUTO, Torque Converter Help Needed - 08/29/14 03:30 AM
So I send my trans off to the shop for rebuild along with the converter. Stress the importance that I get my original pieces back and told "no issue, the torque converter rebuild shop doesn't stock your converter AND I'll request they rebuild yours"
I pick it up today and I notice the converter they provided is missing the drain plug (not mine). The're trying to make it right but I have little faith they will locate my original converter (and hardware, as I recall the plug had markings). He claims if they can't find mine they will find a replacement. So here are my questions
Prior to turn in I wasn't able to find any PN's on my converter, any idea how one would be able to tell a correct one from an incorrect?
Parts manual doesn't show a converter for a 340 3-2bbl, only a 440 3-2bbl (3410839)
Would it have been the same as a 340 4bbl? (2801764), this PN also appears on 318 and 383 models??
Stall speeds as provided in the service manual doesn't address 340 2-6bbl converters at all, so whats the stall for a 340 3-2bbl, same as 340 4bbl (2250-2450)?
Tech service bulletin for AAR's doesn't address this topic either
So what am I suppose to do at this point?????
Thanks for the help
