Having my LA built 70 Challengers starter redone and wonder if anybody has an original pic of a starter on a LA built 70 Challenger. I'm wondering about overspray.

Shouldn't be any. The starters were installed after the engines were painted.

Unless he is talking about the black overspray on the starter barrel. That was done by the starter manufacturer though. I have an NOS starter that has it and can post a picture later.

Starting out by saying there are always exceptions- probably 90% of what we recieve in our shop that are original factory assembled pieces have some degree of overspray. It varies from almost all of the starter assembly to just a few spots. I don't believe the starter finish would be LA specific.
