In the process of restoring my 68 gtx. 440 4 speed. Can anyone tell me if this car should have a fuel return line? And how the vent line runs. Thanks Larry J

Yes it should have a return line. It runs from the vapor separator at the fuel pump and follows the main fuel line back to the sending unit. Main line is 3/8" return line is 1/4"

440 cars came with 5/16 lines 1/4 returns HEMI 3/8 main 1/4 returns

I could be wrong but it looks like its 5/16th. I did find part of the 1/4 line plugged off. . Does the 2 nipples on the tank just loop into the trunk? Is it a closed vent or open to atmosphere? Thanks for the reply.

one is a vent that goes into trunk and back out the the other is a return. your sending unit should be 3/8 the 5/16 hose is force over it.

3/8 inlet 5/16th main line 1/4 return. Does it matter which nipple I use for the return? Thanks Larry J

I am sorry tank ports are both vents go to right stuff detailing web site . they have everything you need. return line on sending unit

Hopefully a picture can help - fuel line and return go into the sender unit. The two vent lines are up in the corner. One going up into the trunk and back out again and the other just a short piece.
