Dana 60 Gears options

Dana's are well known for their 3:54 and 4:10 gears as standard ratios. Are there gear sets out there that fit the Dana 60 in options lower than the 3:54 like perhaps 3:40 or 3:33 or 3:23? I know Ford made a 3:73 for a Dana 60 but thats about it. Thoughts? I know it was possible to have a 3:23 behind a Hemi with an automatic but that came with an 8 3/4" and not a Dana 60.

There was a 3:3? but I'm 99% sure it was a ford ratio , you'll have to search to see if you can find an old set , nothing new is available that I have ever seen.

My 1968 SM says a 3.31 was avalable.

Go to an International dealer,the old Scouts,Travelall's and pickups had a variety of different ratio's.

Actually, the 3.31 gears available in 1968 fit Dana 53 rears.

Is it really worth all the hassle, I don't think you will notice the difference between a 3.54 to a 3.23 or especially anything in-between

According to RPM calculator (http://www.csgnetwork.com/multirpmcalc.html )a car with 27 inch tires, 1:1 high gear (regular 4 spd),and a 3.54 will be turning 3084 RPM at 70 MPH (speed limit here in ky).
Same car with 3.33 gear will be turning 2900 RPM, worth the hassle..??
