Steering column grease ? - 05/04/14 04:08 AM

I'm restoring a couple steering columns and in disassembling them have discovered the remnants of the factory grease that looked more like earwax than grease

I have the crud all cleaned out and am reassembling everything, what type of grease do you guys like to use to lube the new parts.

I've got a 30 year old tub of brown Valvoline grease that I've used in my two couplers. It looks like the original stuff I cleaned out of them....only clean. I also used it to lube other steering column pieces.
