Hello! When I did my '70, I bought the harness from Y1. I bet all the vendors get the harnesses from the same manufacturer. I built my dash on a "jig" that I made and everything plugged in as it should. Very easy. Take care, Jeff

There's only one place, Year One.

Yes, I consider the Y1 offering to be probably the best repop dash harness. However, the Y1 dash harness is not exactly correct for a 70 Cudas or Challengers. It is closer to the 71+ E bodies.

I would recommend staying far far away from the aftermarket wiring kits where you buy a box full of colored wire, crimp connectors, a fuse block and a “good luck” manual. Consider how that will affect the resale value if you decide to sell your car.

I can’t begin to tell you how many phone calls I have taken from frustrated people needing help with these. I always try to help them but by then, it’s too late when they realize what they really ended up with. They have already spent their money. One typical question is, “I have a pink wire for the wiper switch and that’s it. What do I do now to wire the wiper switch and the wiper motor? They most certainly do have their place when building a ZZ Top custom or drag car.

For the discerning owner of a Mopar wanting to restore their car as close to stock, as possible, I do offer the restoration service for the original dash harness and also including the power window harnesses, light delay harness, speaker harnesses, A/C harness, road lamp harness and their associated relays.

You can see my work on dash harnesses and other harnesses on the JS Restorations thread in the Hot Deals and New Products section here on Moparts. Please check the 68 GTX dash harness I received, the restoration process and the finished product on page 3.

Jim is correct....if you have a 70 E Body and it's not to toasty I'd let Jim take care of it....alot less headaches.
All the assembled harnesses come from the same place and Year One has them locked into a "NO Compete" arrangement so they all come thru YO.

Dont forget you can use your existing or any E-body non-rallye underdash harness and with a few modifications can convert to be a functioning rallye gauge harness.

Jim is doing my 70 dash harness as we speak. He has been great in keeping me updated on the progress with pic and emails. His attention to detail is that of a craftsman. I had bought a M&H harness from YO before I had seen Jim's work. When I saw what he could do I sent the YO back and sent him my original.
Nothing like havring the real item in your car. You won't be sorry if you have Jim restore your harness!

Yes, the best product out there now is M&H harnesses sold exclusively, it I recall correctly, via YearOne. I have installed M&H's in all my situations and have installed another brand with the electronic ignition incorporated in it. It left a lot to be desired and actually caused a MAJOR pain-in-the-butt troubleshooting procedure. Turned out it was one of the soldered connections within the harness....... Brand new harness.....

If there's a better product out there compared to M&H, let me know...

Inquiring minds wanna know...

Thank you for the input. It appears that I have two options:
1. restore my old one.
2. buy a close to original one from Y1.
Thanks again
