1969 Coronet R/T referance phots needed - 01/25/14 05:02 AM

Well, the bodymen are asking for some direction regarding holes that need to be drilled in the body of my 69 Coronet R/T. I am hoping you guys can help me out with the following pictures or mesaurements. Thanks for any help in advance.

-Fender mounted turn signal indicator holes in the top of each fender.

-N96 ramcharger hood cable hole in firewall.

*MOST IMPORTANT* - 1/4 panel side scoop holes.

I can get you the first 2 tomorrow, my 500 vert has the turn signals and my R/T has the N96 cable, I don't have a car with the side scoops

Investigate before you take my word for it, but I don't believe you could get N96 and the fender turn signals on a 69 Dodge. The passenger-side scoop blocks your view of the signal, hence they weren't really compatible. I think you could get them together on a Plymouth.

NO (zero) 1969 Super Bees or Coronet R/Ts FACTORY OPTIONed with both "RAMCHARGER" hood (N96) & fender turn signal indicators (L31).

Re: 1969 Coronet R/T referance phots needed - 01/25/14 10:27 AM

My car originally was optioned with fender mounted turn signals, but not a ramcharger hood. The original fenders were scrap and I didnt take measurements of the holes unfortunately. I thought that I had heard before not being able to have both options together but I have seen many Bees and R/Ts with them together......

Doesnt mean they were born that way of course I suppose.

Alex, I heard that my car is finally on the rotisserie. After 3 years of body shop hell, its a good feeling. Nothing like your story though. Your car has to be pretty far along by now huh?

BTW, my car is an R/T, not a Bee

I was in a similar postion several years ago with my '70 Swinger 340. I liked the look of them and was thinking of adding them. The sales brochure showed a Swinger 340 with fender mounted turn signals (hood scoops were standard equipment) but the dealer data book and price book said they were not available on the Swinger 340.

From the dealer price books at hamtramck-historical

Dave here is an underhood shot of my old Coronet, I didn't have fender lights due to the Ram Charger and it was a factory scoop car so don't have any measurements on that.

Dan, does this also apply to the A12 lift off hood cars as well?

WHY?

Re: 1969 Coronet R/T referance phots needed - 01/27/14 05:54 AM

Was it because the driver couldn't see the right fender mounted light because of the height of the right hood scoop. If so then for sure there would be no way with an A12 hood either...................but maybe you could with the A12 hood scoop versus the ramcharger single that was more outboard and inline with the driver's sightline?

That's why I question the NA N96 combo..... we all know some cars exist with NA options/combos/etc

I found this some time ago. Other than the sloppy detail dimensions (edge of hole vs center of hole), it is accurate.

Hope this helps.

I asked on the A12 site. It serms that you could order the A01 light package with the N96 option...just not the L31 fender mounted turn signals by themselves. If you have a map light, trunk light and ignition delay, you would have fender turn signals too.

M Code Bees do not code N96 so that's kind of a non starter.

L31 IS a valid option on A12 Bees.

L31 is not part of A01. It's a separate option.

John, I think a glove box light came with the A01 package and a console compartment light if you had a console(?)

Yep, my car has N96 and A01.

Pretty sure console light came with the console regardless if you had A01 or not.

Re: 1969 Coronet R/T referance phots needed - 01/28/14 06:38 AM

I ordered the A01 light package on my '69 road runner with Air Grabber, and a console and I know it had the ash tray, glove box, map light, trunk light, *ignition key delay, fender top bullets, but I don't remember if the console compartment had a small light inside? probably not. (I know the left and right side lights are standard on all of those console...and nice mood lighting touch BTW ).

Can't see any other reason than the right N96 hood scoop on the Dodge blocking the fener light because my Air Grabber road runner had them (my rr) BUTT you can't see it in this photo because someone's BUTT is blocking it here

Re: 1969 Coronet R/T referance phots needed - 01/28/14 06:46 AM

No A01 light package on my '69 GTX but the console lights.

The first few times I got into my '68 road runner at night I had trouble finding the ignition switch because I was so used to having the time delay ignition light Then I started to leave the door open until I put the key into the ignition and that used to confuse my wife and son "What are you doing, close the door it's cold and the exhaust smells"

Just this, I didn't believe it so I put a socket on the fender and sat in the driver's seat and couldn't see it over the scoop from the driving position.

If you had the Ramcharger hood scoops they should have just made the option available at half price ($5.40) then there wouldn't have been any justified complaints of not being able to see it, "Sorry sir we understand that you can't see it and that's the reason we didn't charge you for it"

They deleted them on Challengers too until 73 I think. My car has them and you can't see the PS one over the Rallye hood.
