Question: Should the rear side marker bezels
be painted body color or stripe color???

Side marker bezels should be painted back to the way the factory did them, meaning some where, some wern't! I always paint them the color of the stripe because it looks best, but I have seen original cars each way.

My original paint 69 r4 red 340 swinger with the factory applied stripe. The marker light bezzles are the same color as the the stripe. I also have a wrecked hemi orange original paint and stripe 69 340 swinger it also has color to the stripe matching marker lights.
