Electronic conversion kit - 10/25/13 01:18 AM

Looking for the most under the hood correct electronic ignition kit for my 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 383 4 barrel LA car. Lots of choices out there but what is the best and the most correct for my car.

From what I understand electronic Ing. wasn't offered in 1970. I think it might have been an option in 71 or 72. So, pertronix is the only thing available that except for one extra wire looks correct. It goes in place of the points. Get the Pertronix I and you can still use your stock coil and ballast restore. Amazon is the cheapest place to buy.

I guess what I meant to say is what would look like it is not an electronic ignition since your right it was not offered on my car. I have heard the Mopar Proformance look correct.

The Mopar Performance ing. has a box to deal with, and you have to use the distributor that comes with it. The best option is the Pertronix unit, and it may also be cheaper.

I agree. The Pertronix are good, cheap, and reliable. Parts are easy to get too. I've used them over 10 years years on my cars and they are an excellent choice. Down side is there is that additional wire you need to contend with hiding.
