New Toy has Arrived - 69 Coronet 440 - 08/28/13 03:49 PM
My new car has arrived from Texas. I am not well educated in the B-bodies, so I will need lots of help with this learning what are the common problems and what to do.
What I got was a 69 Coronet 440 in Q5 with a white vinyl top, black interior, 318/904 w/ A/C. Body is very clean with minor dings rust bubbles. Some things that aren't working include
Heat
A/C
Wipers
Back up lights
and it seems to be draining the battery as it sits idle.
Is it common for the heat/AC switch to go? I can't get some of the buttons to work/push in. The fan also seems to run even when the heat/AC is turned off.
The wipers are the two speed, so I need to do some investigation as to the problem.
The front bench looks nice, but the seat is VERY tired and you feel like you fall in when you sit on it. Any tips on how to get it back up to par?
Pics coming soon!
I'm looking to have some fun with this one - drop in a bigger engine, clean it up and beat on it a bit.
This is the first time since I was 17 that I didn't have an E-body of some variety in the garage!
