The aluminum molding that runs from the base of windshield to the quarter glass above the door, how do you get this off to be able to re-use it?

Best way that I found was take a bottle opener and rap it with masking tape so it doesn't scratch the trim and start at one end and pry it up alot of times and be careful!!!
