Goodyear Polyglas tire date code - 05/28/13 05:36 PM
What does this date work out to? I'm pretty sure it is the original G60-15 spare tire to my car.

BA = (date) 31st week 1970 (~8/2/70)
NB = (plant) Goodyear Akron II, OH tire palnt
JC = (size) G60-15
DL = (type) fiberglass belted w/RWL
Sounds like a good fit.

What size is it F70-14 or F60-15? White stripe, RWL with size, RWL w/o size? Got pics?
I believe the last 3 digits are G34.
I believe that Goodyear used "01" & "91" to distinguish between plants I & II in Akron, OH before 1970. In '70 it was "NK" (and later ""MA") for plant I vs. "NB" (and later "MB") for plant II.
In 1970 they went to the format on James' tire. Calendar year 1971 DOT mandated a standardized coding for all tire manufacturers.

I thought it might be..
Couldn't it be for an earlier Corvette also. Maybe a replacement tire from a Goodyear store in 1971?

This post has explained the plant and date for Goodyear tires well. What is missing is a chart of codes for the size and type of tire. If someone has such a chart, would you mind adding it to this post? Thanks.

What do you have? I've been collecting data to see if there is a way to reverse engineer any info from it.

The picture below is the spare from a 69 Bee. G70 x 15 Redline. Doesn't seem to match any info in this post. Any ideas on the code?
Thanks. D
