another organasol question - 11/27/08 02:28 AM

I know that A12 cars, AAR & T/As and Cuda tail panels were done in texured organasol. What about hood treatments on 68-70 Road Runners, 70 Darts, 71 Dusters ? Were they textured also ? How much texture did organasol have to it ? Light ? Rough ?

I asked about the 70 340 swinger hood and was told it was organisol rather than just flat black paint.

Here is some reading for you....

I awalys understold it was to have a look like Black 3-M 220 wet sand paper.
I shot it on larger stuff and even with slow quality laqure thinner it came out striped and if yoy put more on it got ruffer looking.
Best way to shoot it is 2 coats and then a kinda far way fog to get rid of the stripes.
It is realy easy to shoot on griles/soilers/wings.
Last time I tred to get the paint shop to mix me some they said i wpuld have to buy all the stuf to mix it and it would make like 4 gallons and I would have stuff left over.
I considered it but would have to selll off some of it to offset the cost.
My car is not going to be OEM right so considering Dupont
Hot rod black single stage or the sem. I have only seen the SEM in pics. I have seen the dupont in person and it looks nice and even,so I guess I will do my TA hood with it.
