GG1, I have the original plate, it was an 18K original mile car when I bought it. I have never driven it and the 340 that came in it has never ran sice I bought it in 1991. Tim

I too like green mopars.
Maybe this should be moved to the project section so it doesn't fall off the board after a week or two.

Is this the shock tower support?
Can't tell if it's my eyes not processing the picture right.

Yes, it trianguates the inner fender brace and ties in the shock tower support into the firewall. Tim

Re: Green with envy! - 02/19/13 06:43 PM

I love it. I just started cutting apart my 68 Road Runner for restoration. I have a pile of AMD metal to back onto the car. I am going back the original TT1 green, which is a little darker than what your looks like. After sanding through the layers of pain, I found dark green, silver, black, and the last resale red coat on top.
The hard part is deciding to keep the green interior or go with a black gut.

No problems with that here in Buffalo NY. If it did get that hot, I would probably go with white interior. Which I think would look good with TT1 green. But wasnt' a stock color offering on the 68 Road Runner. GTX and Sport Satellite I think, but not Road Runner.

Re: Green with envy! - 02/23/13 06:18 PM

Thanks, those mod's sure make the car stiffer and I sure hope I can get an aluminum radiator to fit because the front core support brace was a little short when it got welded in. Tim

Re: Green with envy! - 02/25/13 06:25 PM

Well, Thursday I get to order a passenger door skin, the media blasting found a bunch of pin holes so it faster to just replace the door skin than try to patch all of the little holes. There is still 1 bullet hole in a fender that also needs to be fixed, looks like someone with a .22 was plinking at it. Tim

Thanks, I can't wait to get it home. I am planning on starting slowly on ordering parts for the finish, so I must decide if I want to go from the bottom up or front to rear, rear to front, etc. Maybe just a few odds and ends here and there with no logical order...Tim

I just got my MMC restoration guide for hardware. I wish I had this when I took it apart, I could have done a better job of labeling things.
My passenger door skin is supposed to be here tomarrow and then I can get it down to the body shop to get put on.

Thanks JSbrown for the good deal. Tim

Got the skin from AMD last night, now I need to get it down to the body guy tomarrow. That should be the last piece of sheetmetal I need to buy for this car.

If it is Green you know it is mean. Here is the one i built a few years ago. These are the original colors. When I first started everyone said don't paint it green. When I was finished they were going to build one in this color. I love it.

Re: Green with envy! - 03/17/13 06:10 PM

So I went to treat my K-member bolts in OSPHO, I poured some into a small container, put the bolts in and let them sit for a week. The grease and oils came off and floated to the top and they turned black, but after a week, the acid turned to a green jelly like substance. I tried to wash it off with water and it got most of it but not all of it. I placed some more fresh ospho in it and I am getting ready to pull out the parts now...I will keep you posted. Tim

Re: Green with envy! - 05/30/14 05:43 AM

Well I found a killer deal on some 304 stainless 1/2" tubing for the fuel lines, made by parker. 7.00 for a 20' stick. I think I may have to buy all they have just incase I need to remake them. I suck at bending tubing! Tim Once I have fuel lines installed, I will get a US radiators 4 core triple pass radiator and then do another break in run...Tim
Posted By: astjp2

Re: Green with envy! - 11/25/14 06:11 PM

So I am looking at starting to work on the car again, I need to get a new liner for the gas tank to trunk floor, should I get a felt one or rubber? They are both available for about the same money. What about replacement trim, I am finding that I can get some pieces for $100 from some suppliers and others its $200, same with marker lights, some are cheap, others are ridiculously expensive....Thanks Tim
Posted By: astjp2

Re: Green with envy! - 11/26/14 05:56 PM

So no one has an opinion on getting a felt or rubber gas tank pad?
Posted By: DPelletier

Re: Green with envy! - 11/26/14 11:28 PM

I used the rubber, never tried the felt. If you want some more input, I would start a new thread with gas tank pad in the subject line

Dave
Posted By: astjp2

Re: Green with envy! - 12/12/14 12:11 PM

Well so far I ordered the tank pad from DTM, I just got my Bergman 1.15 torsion bars and spring hanger shims, Classic Ind. ordered my US Radiators 4 core triple pass copper/brass radiator, gas cap and filler neck is on the way. I may get a few things done this year. Hopefully I will be able to start the engine and listen to it go rumpty rumpty....

Re: Green with envy! - 12/12/14 09:25 PM

I am going to also replace the tublar upper control arms I bought, they are adjustable from RMS, but I don't like the fact they don't touch the bump stops. So I may do the Firm Feel ones or the ones from Ride tech, probably go with the firm feel ones, I cant afford the Hotchkis stuff and I despise heim joints. After working on helicopters for years, I wont put a heim joint on anything that goes on the highway. Tim
Posted By: astjp2

Re: Green with envy! - 12/16/14 02:35 AM

So I got my fuel filler neck in from Vans auto, gas cap came in from BEA, radiator cam in from US radiators purchased through Classic Ind. I sent the radiator in and found that the core support brace was not installed right by the welder and now I have to cut it out and get a new one installed that will clear the radiator...crap, more work to fit something that should have in the first place....Gas Cap looks beautiful though....Tim
