Rotisserie Recommendations? - 11/17/08 01:52 PM
Well, what started out as a tune up and brake job appears to have blossomed into a nut and bolt restoration, so I'm in the market for a rotisserie for a '71 B-body. Anyone with any recommendations and prices?
Thanks,
Scott

I bought the Accessible Systems one (bottoms up lift). Havent put it together yet but, looks rock solid and they are great people to deal with. I also have a '71 B body.

bought a greg smith. $1000. works like a dream. Did my 71 runner. Had to order the unibody plates as well. Bolted plates to rear bumper holes and also used the front bumper holes.
It has hydralics, and will drop down to allow you to unbolt suspension, then up and away. Rubber wheels are a little soft, but that is the only negative.

Yes, we did have this posting awhile back. I think the best one for the money, and it works well with Mopars is "Whirley Jig" located in Paris, Tn. ALot of body shops use them.

I'm also looking for a rotisserie for my 71 Demon. Are the rotisseries able to fit within a normal garage or am I S.O.L? What options do us with a 2 car garage have?

I don't know about the purchased ones, but my home made rotisserie fit in my old 2 stall garage with 8 1/2 ft ceiling. I guess it depends on the length of your garage.
Hey Scott, we have one at the shop for sale. It's a Whirly Jig that a customer doesn't need any more. Only used for one car. Let me know if you need more information.
BTW, did you find some wheels?

I just bought one from Roto 2000 in Iowa. It comes with hydrualic rams, steel wheels, expands to 19', 3000 lb capacity, 3/16" wall tubing, and works with ceiling heights of 7' 8". The cost with the unibody adapter and shipping came to $1280. They have other options available as well.
