Reassembling my 70 RR Front end. Wondering if there is a gasket etc between the brake backing plate and the spindel? Cant find anything in the service manual but want to make sure...

There may be a round foam gasket in there , check with 71TA

I believe it is a foam donut gasket. I got mine fom Wilson Products in Missouri. I don't have their info though.

No gasket on drum brakes between backing plate and spindle BUT there is a foam gasket thats in the opening where the spindle passes thru the backing plate. Only problem is they put the foam piece in and THEN welded the 2 pieces together.

I'm actually working with a guy right now to do something there. I'm making him a few test pieces. Think he was going to try to glue then in place.

The foam donut is on disk brakes. Goes between the spindle and the metal splash plate.
