What finish paint can I use for a gas filler tube?? - 11/15/08 06:59 PM

My gas filler tube and emission tube in the trunk look ok, but I wanted to spruce them up. What paint or finish can I put on them to make them look acceptable. Its not a concourse car, just a really nice driver. I was thinking Eastwood's Aluma-blast??

Thanks,

Do a search, this question came up not long ago and there were some real good contributions. My Dart looks as if it has a lead like coating on it.

I don't know how this would work or look, but the original finish was hot galvanized.

Cold Galvanizing Compound Aerosol
or
Tank Tone Metallic Coating Aerosol

Maybe VHT Stainless Steel Epoxy? or https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post4559896

I think the steel wool sounds like maybe the best bet

Fine steel wool is what was recommended in a thread a while back. But IIRC, it has a lead coating so you will want to be careful and wear protective items.
