where can i get b body windshield? - 09/12/12 11:14 PM

I am needing a clear front windshield for my 1970 roadrunner post car but all i can find online has the blue tint at the top. amd website says out of stock. has anyone installed the blue tinted one in their car? I want my car to look original and the local glass company said they haven't had a clear one in the warehouse in over 10 years.

Funny, talking about glass. I was at the glass shop today cause someone needed to break my window . I Dont know about this company but the local glass shop told me for a windsheild for a 71 quoted $140.00. They also told me they can get glass far back to '65. Bottom line, check your local shops first IMOP.

Be careful who you buy from. Some of these windshields are thinner than the originals and are sloppy in the gasket. Be sure to ask your supplier the thickness of their glass then compare it to your original.

Majority of the glass available "local" is tinted from PPG, PS, JPG, Pinkington, etc......Clear, once the norm decades ago, is now special order, and only a handful of companies making/carrying it,...A lot of the clear vintage/classic auto glass is made in UK
