unknown wires in dash harness - 08/12/12 12:25 PM

Im putting the dash back together in my 70 RR and have come across two connections which I didnt label or the labels fell off. Anyway is there anyone who can offer up what they may be? Is it possible they dont connect to anything?

Do you have light group? They won't connect to anything if the car doesn't have the option they would connect to.

Map light , glove box light , trunk light , light on the column to shine on the ignition lock , ashtray light , fender mounted turn signals ... to name a few ...

isn't that the plug for the optional key light? pretty sure the timer plugs into it.

yellow/red plug is the power for your radio

A comment you may find useful... The work done looks great, but anything that should ground by being bolted to the dash frame may give you problems as the paint is heavy enough that it may insulate/isolate components...

Thanks Randy...I have it covered with previous experience.

Wate...are you 100% certain? I have the radio labeled as the Orange and White wired connection not the Yellow and Red.

I think the red and yellow/black T shaped plug is part of the light pkg for the key on light dimmer relay

I would have to ck a 70 book to ck on the yellow with black tracer wire bullit plug

T-shaped radio plug has an orange(lamp circuit) and a red (Battery circuit) wires

Pretty sure the red and yellow/black T shaped plug is part of the light pkg - it has a terminator with a diode inline, it makes the key buzzer go off when you leave the lights on.

M6A-18Y* & M6B-18Y* (18ga. yellow w/tracer)

&

Headlight Warning Buzzer:
L6-18Y* & L6A-18Y* (18ga. yellow w/tracer)
Q13A-18R & Q13B-18R (18ga. red)

the heater lights should end in a bullet connector which plugs into a 3 outlet female bullet receptacle along with the ashtray light. this is tied to the dashboard dimmer control. that's how my 69 RR is. don't think that changed for 1970.

Thanks Joe!!! Exactly what I needed! Now I need another day with a few hours to kill and the dash is a wrap.
