That's serious highway robbery! The headliner should be 100-150 max and that's pushing it. I paid 100 to have my headliner installed years ago and maybe 125 for my vinyl top (was my first time restoring a car). Next time, i'll do it all myself. Look on youtube and do some research - both you can do yourself and save your money!

That is not bad to me for the headliner install , I paid 300 to have one done a DECADE ago.

Remember where we live mike , if you want it for pennies on the dollar you are going to have to ship the car to MEXICO ...

I can do one in 1 hour. Or to make it look perfect it takes me 4 to 6 hours. I think the cost could be based on the time it takes and the quality of work.

The cost of living in the northeast is what makes the prices a lot higher , I WISH I could get quality work done for that little.

The price would have to depend on whether or not the car is assembled or not. It's way easier, and of course cheaper to do a v-top and headliner on a fresh resto, verses a car that is assembled, and you have to stip the trim off the car. I agree with 4-6 hours on a perfect headliner install. Vinyl tops could be pricey if you're dealing with old glue, or worse, find rust.

I probably should have mentioned that.. Car is a restoration car.. There is no interior and old headliner is out, I have all bows etc. and the headliner. Roof is stripped and all clean, glass is out too and I have the top..

Why don't you give it a shot and DIY? Worst that could happen is that you ruin a $75.00 headliner... The vinyl tops are pretty easy when all of the trim and glass is out of the car.

Go to Restorick's website for headliner installation tips. Seriously, it's not that hard and the sense of accomplishment will be a good feeling

We have a great guy up here that has 30 years expirience. He installed the headliner and vinyl top on my 68 Charger and charged me $340.00. I supplied the headliner and vinyl top. It took him less than 4 hours to do both all by himself. Nice and tight with no wrinkles.

I did my own in my Challenger with Resto Ricks tips and it turned out pretty good. Minor wrinkles near the front but that may be due to repro pillar moldings. Harbor freight has the clips you need. I spent about $60 on those, but I saved the $400 that I was quoted as well. You can do it!

Notg sure on the VT but the headliner price is right in line with the shops here in MI, I called serveral and all were 400+. I just did mine in a 71RR, me and a friend got kind of frazzled and had to back away a few times but after it was done it looks awesome, no whrinkles and tight enough to bounce a quarter. I asked the person who did my seats for a few pointers before we started, he said he won't touch them and his advise was not to do them...LOL he did tell us some stuff you absolutly need to know. Lots of steam, the best 3m adhesive, and sew/stitch the end of the slips you put your bows through or risk them ripping to much and leaving sags. GL
